Go ahead and be jealous, I know I would be

I love reading blogs and one of my most favorite is The Real Pretend.  Her writing is funny, real, inspiring and I always enjoy reading her blog.  Recently she told her readers that if they wanted a handmade valentine from her she would make them one, just email her your address.  So I did.  It felt strange, a little like middle school, to send a stranger my address and confess to her how much I adored her blog.  We have a few things in common, one being we both have a Beary Merry Christmas advent calendar, which is how I found her blog in the first place.

So I got mine.  I was thrilled.  My husband had left it among the pile of mail he put in the front seat.  Gah!  Didn't he know what this was!!!  He doesn't celebrate Valentine's Day so I don't think he really got it.  I carefully opened it and was filled with joy.  I do think this may be the best (not from my kids) Valentine I have ever gotten because it was made just for me.  Boys never hand make things for you.  Note to self:  I'm going to teach my boys to make their Valentine's by hand for those special girls.  So go ahead and be jealous, I know I would be.  Oh and go read The Real Pretend because Joelle is simply spectacular.
By far the sweetest.  He wouldn't let me read it without Dale.  I didn't peek.  You think that the hand prints and stuff are wonderful, but when they can write things from their heart it is truly amazing.
This one is totally irrelevant to the subject but she is beautiful and I'm planning her birthday party.  It's going to be awesome and I will share it with you.  I just sighed with happy anticipation.

  1. Ah, you're sweet Julie. And seriously, thanks so much for sending a stranger your address. I had so much fun making valentines for people I've never met in real life. I'm also happy you value that Beary Merry Christmas calendar as much as I do. That thing is priceless.
