DIY: Embroidered Fabric Wall Art

I was totally inspired by a fantastic post on Under the Sycamore.  Go there, read it, I do every day!  I thought to myself  "I have some embroidery thread I can embroider!"  Hmmm did I mention that I've never embroidered before.  I have some great vintage fabric that I'm using as a theme for the boys room.  I like that its not too babyish for my 7 yr old.  Not that he would care too much anyways.  The boys both seem to be pretty laid back.  It had been used before as curtains but I'm using it for a baby blanket (I know that by the time I finish that blanket he probably won't be a baby anymore) and in this case some wall art.  I had planned on just framing the fabric squares but by adding some embroidery I really made it pop.  Not to mention I put his little name on it.  I am so in love with this fabric.  The frame is a really cheap one that the glass had been broken out of.  I just used some spray paint to change the color.  I promise when I finish their room I will let you see it.
