Unexpected Daycation & Giveaway

It's almost 7am and I can hear Dale frantically running through the house checking all the faucets and some plumbing stuff...the water pressure is low...then I get the call.  "Broken Arrow Public Schools will be closed today due to low and no water pressure."  Eeek!  Well that explains our water.

Ethan is excited, Ellie is bummed (it is her Show and Tell day) and I am happy that I have a day off from driving her to and from school...until I realize that I can't really do laundry or dishes.  Normally I would be pretty pleased with the excuse but I would really like to stay caught up on those things.  I have to say I'm not ready to old school it so the power better stay put!

So after some Dora for the girls and computer time for Ethan and I its game on.  I can't wait to make the most of this unexpected daycation.  How about some games and crafts this morning and popcorn and a movie this afternoon?  Really glad that I'm at home now.  It would be beyond stressful to deal with this if I had to take off or figure out what to do with all my kiddos.  A big hug to the working mamas that have to deal with that.

In the comments below tell me how you would make the most of an unexpected daycation to win my first giveaway, a custom made button ring.  The winner will get to choose from my stash before they go on to my Etsy shop.  You have until Saturday at 9pm cst.  Winner will be chosen at random.  Good luck!
Here are a few preview pictures...

  11. I work full time and don't get to spend as much time with my daughter during the week that I would like, so I would take advantage of that time and get out of the house. Maybe a day a the park. She is JUST getting to the age where she can really play. (Just turned one year last saturday!)

  14. I would probably take my son to Toys R Us and let him pick out 1 toy. We NEVER go there, so I'm sure he would LOVE it. Then we would come home and play with that toy while watching his favorite movie.
