My Song

One of my most favorite blogs, Under the Sycamore, had a very beautiful and moving post titled "the incubator project."  Ashley has been very open about her adoption of a special needs child in China, and it was no surprise that she came up with the idea for a fundraiser.  She is a mother and woman I hope to emulate!  In exchange for a minimum donation of $20 (by Friday April 20th) she will email you one of the gorgeous pdf print files that were made by various other bloggers and artists.  When I saw #7 by Sarah Jane Studios I just knew that it was for me.  It sung to me.  You see I've had a baby in an incubator.  Then I thought about the baby in the incubator there not having a mother on the other side, taking care of them.  Broke my heart.  It also on a much deeper and personal level made me reflect on My Song.  Am I singing the song I was born to sing?  Or am I simply going silently through the motions of life?

I got my pdf yesterday and sent it off to FedEx Kinko's.  They happen to be next to Hobby Lobby where I picked up a half price frame.  I found the perfect spot in my dining room.  I wanted to be able to read "Sing the song you were born to sing" everyday and for my kids to see it also.  So stop reading this and go over to Under the Sycamore and follow the instructions on how to donate to Love Without Borders.  You can also see how much has been raised so far (much more than an incubator!) and read the stories of the other children that have been helped by clicking here.
